Siostra - Polish Pottery and Gifts
Description of Property at
330 South Main Street
Find a true treasure in the unique handmade crafts and imported gifts at Siostra Polish Pottery & Gifts in St. Charles, Missouri. The small retail shop on the cobblestone streets of the St. Charles historic district predominately sells Polish pottery, but also carries novelty imported gift items including Lithuanian candle houses and Italian-made rooster pitchers. About Our Store The owner of Siostra Polish Pottery & Gifts first encountered Polish pottery when she was stationed with the Army in Heidelberg, Germany, after marrying her husband in 1999. "All the military wives had their houses filled with this pottery," she said, "and I also became hooked on it with its functionality and quality." The wives would schedule bus trips to buy the pottery, where they would also get to see how and by whom it was made. She has been collecting the pottery for 12 years, always wanting to open a stateside Polish pottery and imported gifts store. That dream took 10 years but finally happened. Her retail shop along the Missouri River just opened its doors on Memorial Day weekend 2012.
